The Butcher's Shop Café was created from a vision: One of great coffee, great food and a relaxed atmosphere, where friends can gather for a quick catch up or a full meal. The Butcher's shop Café was chosen because of its prime location in the heart of Patumahoe and because of the sentimental value that it holds to Maree, the owner, as her Pop did his Butchery apprentice in the premises, when it was a fully operational Butchery.

The original butcher's shop has been kept in its entirety, with a generous dining area added to the back area of the café. The entire café has a friendly and honest feeling to it, with customers able to walk past the chefs preparing fresh, mouthwatering food daily.

The Butcher's Shop Café always has a cabinet full of great baking. This includes sandwiches on wholewheat bread, filled with either roast beef, corned silverside or roast lamb. The food has been designed to reflect the rural feeling of the Café, and you'll never walk away unimpressed. The menu is constantly changing, varying from Duck and Pasta salad, to Israeli Cous Cous and Roast Vegetable salad.

The Baristas were trained by Tory at Jungle Coffee. The owners of Jungle Coffee (Mac and Kate) have provided expert training and continually support us in making the perfect cup of coffee.

As a proud supporter of the cycling community, the Butcher's Shop Café has a secure area to keep your bikes while you're dining inside.

Due to its central location, the Butcher's Shop Café offers a text in service for coffee orders. Just text in what kind of coffee you want, starting at 6.30am weekdays, and 8.00am on weekends, and it'll be ready for you to pick up on the way to work, or the kid's sports games.
